Reblog if you’ve ever yelled at a book.
There were two I hated and I yelled at them and threw both across the room.
Queen Of The Damned by Anne Rice. Terrible book. I loved the first two, and then this piece of trash came along and ruined it forever for me. I’ve had friends tell me that some later books with the vampire characters were really good, but I probably won’t ever read them.
Sphere by Michael Crichton. A promising start ends up going absolutely nowhere. No. Where. I have gleefully spoiled this book for people, though I will not do that here. Suffice it to say that my regular ‘fake spoiler’ that I give for everything— “the butler did it”— would have made a vastly superior book. (I know, I’m an annoying person sometimes.)
Maybe someday I’ll write a spoof of both called ‘Queen Of The Damned Sphere’ by Ankle Ricin and vampires from outer space will suck the life out of writers, leaving their works in progress drained of talent and life.
