Origami Sonnet
by Douglas Robert Turek
Oh folded paper with your wing and fin
Rogue waves half hiding the meaning bent in
If I set you free will you take to wing
Gather to your nest, cock your head and sing
And if a thousand of you should I make
May my life be peace, my heart not ache
If you’re set afloat, will you be alive
If a wave comes will you crumple or dive
Some breath of mine wants to fill up your folds
Statue of air or a story I’ve told
Origami messenger fly from me
Ferry my words or my wish within thee
Unfolding experience surrounds
Not really paper but a crane I’ve found
